Have no idea why I was thinking about this or how it popped into my head, I remember all the old commercials I used to see on TV about Outback Steakhouse. The announcers voice was Australian (or at least it sounded like an Aussie accent to a kid from the states) so that led me to believe that Outback Steakhouse was originally from Australia.
Got me to thinking, they do have Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kentucky so maybe they do have Outback in Australia???
So if I could get an answer from someone who is from Australia to let me know whats up that would be nice.
I could be cleaning, cooking, reading financial investment info to better my familys and my life but no I'm actively seeking information on the Interweb to find out if they have Outback Steakhouse in Australia.
Reading over this post I now want to kick the crap out of myself for asking such a dumb question. And one more thing, I hate Outback Steakhouse. |

The company originated in Tampa, Florida. I know this because I'm from the city and worked, as a busboy, at the orignal outback back in high school. They also have some other successful restaurants they created, Carrrabas(Italian) and Bone Fish Grill, both pretty good. |

My brother and one of my mates seem to love outback (in Sydney) but personally I can't bring myself to eat "aussie food" that is made by a us franchise by korean cooks...
But yeh, as you know it is in aus, but not really that popular, I hadn't even heard of it before I came to Korea. |

I like that, you had to come to Korea to learn about an "Australian Restaurant."
I kinda figured it was a marketing plan that some company from the US started up. I feel used.... |

I love how it's an "Australian" restaurant and they only have six of 'em in Australia.
Honestly I'm surprised they have any. |

Well they do have boomerangs unceremoniously nailed to the wall.
The irony is that Lone Star Steakhouse, a distinctly American chain was popular in Australia during the '90s and '00s. |

When I first came to Korea back in 2001, Outback Steakhouse did not exist in Australia.
When I came here, it was the first I'd heard of Outback Steakhouse.
It has since opened up in Australia.
It's an American owned chain. The original advertising in Korea was, "America's favorite Australiana Restaurant". |

I was pretty sure the Lone Star was the then Australian incarnation of The Outback. I can remember going to the one on the Gold Coast in 2001 after eating at Outback in Korea and recognizing some of the menu items, such as the "Aussie" cheese fries. |
