Off down to Gyeongju this weekend and I'm looking for some recommendations, particularly in terms of restaurants? Also, where is the best nightlife area? I've reserved a hostel that hasn't got fantastic reviews, so I'm going to try and get a love motel near the station - think they'll be crazy this weekend?

Thanks

Nice!! If you go to the neighborhood Songongdong then you will find most all of the restaurants and nightlife. You can even just tell a cab driver "Dongdae sagari" and you'll be in the right general area... if you take a right from there these is a WaBar. There is also an Ok Beef right off of that main road where you would be dropped off at but on the OTHER side of the street.

Most of the foreigners hang out around WaBar or the Metro (one block south of there.. it's next to the CoffeeCore).

Sorry if my directions aren't too specific but it's a difficult area to explain because there isn't really any solid landmarks. It is definitely a beautiful city though and there's a lot of good history to see!!

Basically if you walk around Songongdong then you'll be bound to find some good restaurant because that's where most of them are at.

If you're looking for something specific though -- like Shabu shabu or something then just PM me and I'll see if I can think of a where one is located.
