I overstayed my E2 visa and now I have a penalty in which i must return to my hometown, toronto, to get work visas (whereas other people can go to Japan or China). Also, I will need to get a new CBC and health check notorized and stamped by the Korean embassy in Toronto.

Here's the hitch: The Korean embassy in Korea must first give me the job ID number (after processing my paperwork), for me to return to Toronto to process the visa. So, can i do both in 1 trip to Toronto? But then, how would the Korean embassy in Korea process my paperwork WITHOUT the CBC?

I'm certain I don't have to make 2 trips but if anyone has info.. please share

thanks

You go back to Toronto, mail them the stuff, get the number in a few weeks, send it to them, and then you get your visa from the embassy. One trip.

You go home to Toronto.

You need to get your CBC and then have your CBC and degree copy certified by the Korean consulate in Toronto.

You then submit those hard copies along with your new contract to your new employer (in Korea) who will, upon receipt of same, apply for your visa confirmation number from immigration in Korea.

When you get that number back from your employer (takes a week or 2) you go to the Korean consulate in Toronto and get your visa (takes a couple of days) placed into your passport.

Then you get on a plane and head to Korea.

There is no Korean Embassy in Korea. An EMBASSY is the mission abroad undertaken officially by an ambassador.
