I saw a headline yesterday, and I thought it was a sportswriter's inside joke.
Actually I've already looked it up-2 months ago, just can't believe I missed it.
I mean I know I am not as much into sports as I was ten years ago, but I still occasionally scan the headlines.
Also, I know Daves has a lot of sports fans and I did not see it here either. A quick search showed no mention of it.
No big deal, just saying. |

It was a done deal when Jay-Z led a group to buy the team.
I just want to add that there are also no lakes in LA. |

The Nets have been real bad for the past 5 years. In 2009-2010 they went 12-70.
They just re-signed Deron Williams. They have a good coach and if the front office does things right then they might be competing again soon.
I'm sure there isn't too much Jazz in Utah either! |

it happened over the summer and did you see their new logo and J Z made himself? He should stick to rapping and stay as far away as possible from anything having to do with designing NBA team logos.
You couldn't make a more B-O-R-I-N-G logo than the one he did |

It's boring in the context of the NBA, but I think it actually fits Brooklyn pretty well. It's got a stark, almost industrial look that fits the borough. Contrast it with the bright colors of the Knicks, and it's almost like it's saying, "Times Square is over there, we're different." |

I love the logo. It has a Gotham-50s quality to it. Love the retro font and the simple appeal of black and white. It captures the gritty feel of Brooklyn. |

The Nets used to be the New York Nets.
The Lakers came from Detroit where they were called the Detroit Gems. They then moved to Minneapolis and that's where Lakers came from.
The Utah Jazz came from New Orleans.
The Rockets were in San Diego. San Diego had another team too. The Buffalo Braves eventually became the L.A Clippers via San Diego.
The Warriors came from Philadelphia to San Francisco.
The Spurs were originally in Dallas but went by the Chaparrales.
The Kings came from Kansas City.
The Grizzlies came from Vancouver to Memphis. (We don't have any bears, much less Grizzly Bears in West TN) |

I like the logo. Anything that looks good in black and white is a good logo. That's just basic design 101.
I love the gritty, industrial vibe of Brooklyn. It makes me excited for my trip back home this month. It's been years. Bagels and pizza and avocados, oh my! |

Kings actually came from Cincinnati where they were the Royals, thats where Oscar Robertson played
Pistons were originally from Ft Wayne Indiana
Hawks were originally from St. Louis
Hornets were originally in Charlotte, now they have the Bobcats talk about a trade down
Wizards were originally the Baltimore Bullets, which begat the Capitol Bullets, which gave us the Washington Bullets which became the Wizards because the old owner didn't want to be associated with gun violence |
