So I figured I would put this out there on the chance that someone might bite.
I currently work at a kindy where my daughter attends. It's a good job but my wife wants to work next year as well but we basically need split positions due to also having a one year old.
So what I'm asking is if anyone knows a place that will hire one of us to do kindy, the other to do afternoon/evening hagwon. Hopefully my 5 year old can attend kindy as well.
We would live anywhere in Korea so location is not a problem.
I am an Aussie and 40 with a fair bit of experience and my wife is 30, Canadian with experience (so she is the bankable one).
Current contract ends in feb.
I feel like this sort of job might be out there or am I dreaming? |

Most kindies are pretty much all day, and go from 8-10 in the morning until 5-8 at night... They usually tack on some elementary classes in the afternoon, but most don't have classes too late. CDI has a regular hagwon and an "April" program for younger kids... but their reputation is so horrible that no one would recommend such an environment.
Maybe one of you could work at a hagwon, and the other could part-time at a different place (like a kindergarten) in the morning?
Have you tried using a recruiter? They would be able to find places for both of you that were close together, and might be able to make a deal so that one of you could get key money (since you won't both need housing). Good luck! ^.^ |

Basically, with all kindy jobs, you will be split somehow. Hagwons will love to hire you and your spouse because they can schedule you at different times.
The main downside you want to avoid is where they are short a teacher. It will be a war to get them to recognize you have a child at home. So, go to the bigger schools, not a family based one who can only hire 1 teacher. |
