Regarding the cable, I merely want the film and sports channels. I spoke to Olleh earlier and their package came to 52,000W without ESPN, which they don't have a license to or something.

Any recommendations?

Can't say anything specifically on the channels you mentioned. But if you hold out long enough for the seasonal deals or check out some of the smaller cable providers (Most likely basic channels). You can get a phone, internet, and cable package rolled into for less than 30,000.

I lost the flyer so I went with SK. Internet & internet phone for 25 a month + a local cable company for TV.

Are you talking about IPTV? In that case, Olleh TV won't have that, you'll have to get cable.

I have Skylife and it has all the sports channels. Certain places also have more than one cable provider so have a Korean friend help you on this.

What is IPTV?

I thought Olleh was cable Confused...So, I guess I'm looking at getting two seperate providers, one for the internet and one for cable...

IPTV stands for Internet protocol TV, as in instead of a cable, a LAN line goes into your TV set-top box.

Get cable if you want to watch sports or if you're willing to spend more dough, get Skylife.

Bump.

I'm gonna be looking to get TV and internet installed into my apartment in Bucheon over the next couple of weeks.

What is the consensus between Skylife and cable? I basically want to watch sports, and a few channels showing English language movies and shows would be nice.

Does Skylife do a good internet/tv package, am I best just getting a KT internet and separate TV? Will I need to enter into a stupidly long contract (Plan on being here 2 years).

I'm planning on getting an iphone too, and was gonna do it through MobileBoo. Would I be better off getting it in an Olleh store or something, like could I get it as part of a package with TV and internet.

Sorry for all the questions, there's too much info out there!

If you want to watch sports, I'd say Skylife is good since it has the Hong Kong feed of Star Sports (the cable version is the China feed and it doesn't have as many of the good sports). I remember that one year, the Skylife Star Sports showed the Community Shield but the cable Star Sports did not. Skylife also has Eurosport HD though this channel doesn't have the best coverage. And of course, you get the Korean sports channels like MBC Sports Plus and SBS ESPN.

If you have an HD TV, Skylife is the choice since it has the most HD channels. My bundle is around 60,000 won per month for Skylife, Internet phone and LAN but I got 100 MB or something.

Forget LG Powercomm as its channel selection sucks so bad. SK Telecom and Hello D have BBC Knowledge and a few others but I think Skylife is better.

Skylife has Animal Planet. But my Hello D has Bloomberg and CNBC.

I think the KT one has FoxNews if that's your thing.

Skylife has Bloomberg and CNBC, too, as well as Fox News though you have to use the IPTV function on your set-top box to see them.
