|
|
Hi,
I recently arrived to Korea with an F-4 visa. I am planning to search for employment while in Korea.
I'd like to know if I would have a difficult time getting my airfare reimbursed by my employer, since I am already in Korea while applying for a job.
I'm looking for a reliable hagwon that starts as soon as possible. I'm currently living near Yonsei University in Seoul. If you know of any good hagwons near Yonsei, or in Seoul, please let me know. I'm hoping to look at different hagwons in person that are close to where I am.
Thanks in advance! Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am still new to all of this

1) probably not a hope in hades.
2) Hit up a bunch of recruiters, bank on a few doors with resume in hand and don't forget the public schools in your area.
PROVIDED you have the required documentation* in hand you should have a job fairly quickly.
IF you do not have the required documentation in hand (degree copy and CRC with apostilles) your search will be long, slow and mostly fruitless (any employer willing to hire you illegally would also be dodgy enough that you may not want to work there).
* CRC and degree copy are required by all teachers regardless of race, citizenship or visa class.

Thanks, I appreciate your response. I have both my degree and cbc apostilled from home. It's reassuring to know that it probably won't be too difficult to find a job soon.
In regards to the first one, does that mean that I'd have a difficult time finding an employer who would reimburse the cost of my flight to Korea, or just the opposite? I'm confused, because from my understanding, I would think providing round-trip airfare is typically the norm for employers. |

If you are in Korea now (or arrive before you get a job) you will NOT get anything for your airfare over. It will come out of your pocket.
If you are applying for and get accepted while you are NOT in Korea then you would get your airfare in.
