Actually, I am a fan of quiet when I am working, but I am spending about 10 hours a week in the coffee shop (15 at the library, 20 at home, etc, but anyway about 10 at the coffee shop). And most every coffee shop will without a doubt be playing K-Pop. I won't go into the quality of K-Pop, but I will say that every coffee shop has exactly the same playlist of about 10 songs, and they are played over and over and over.
So I have tried ear plugs and ear muffs, but the best solution ultimately is just to listen to my own music just loud enough to drown out the coffee shop music.
Problem is that I like pretty hard rock (the who, led zeppelin, rush, tool) and it really isn't the best to work to. Any good tunes for listening to with ear buds and still getting some work done? Instrumental would be the best I guess.
Thanks, Drew |

Music to get work done? Not really.
But if you like hard rock, I recommend '70s U.F.O. (especially Strangers in the Night), Live and Dangerous by Thin Lizzy, Uli Roth-era Scorpions (the songs aren't that great, but the guitar playing is amazing), and perhaps some '70s prog. like The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis, and anything by Camel. |
