To be fair, it was a holiday weekend.
I'm so glad I decided to not go this weekend. |

Ive been waiting in this damn line [for the Aquarium] since 9 a.m. and the staff tells me Ill be waiting until 4 p.m."
Wow! I had a feeling something like that was liable to happen at peak time. I had to wait over an hour for the aquarium and I cursed my luck and got paranoid that adjosshis were trying to cheat ahead of me in the line. I would never queue for that amount of time.
They have/had a system there whereby you scan your entry card and pre-book your place for different venues. The adjummas and adjosshis didn't take kindly to people getting ahead of them with their pre-booked receipts so it ground to a halt the day I was there. I'm not surprised it was abandoned. If they bring that system back, pre-book the most important venues for you at the times you want to see them - make a schedule. If they don't bring it back, get their at opening time, and run to the aquarium, then chill out. If you're willing to queue all day for an aquarium, then that's why you look like someone that's willing to queue all day for an aquarium.
If you go, try to go on a non-holiday weekday. I didn't see everything but these are the things worth seeing that I saw:
Swiss, German, Russian pavilion segments
Korean pavilion
DSME Marine Robotics pavilion (just about)
SK telecom pavilion (off topic but good)
Aquarium (Aqua City)
Theme Pavilion (just about)
Avoid all other country pavilions as they are useless.
others??
It's mainly for children BTW.. and adjosshis/adjummas apparently. |

My wife and I drove down to Geoje from Daegu this past weekend. We thought we would skip Busan and do a little coastal driving before we got to Geoje. We hit traffic that was backed up about 20 miles or so. Once we got through it we found out it was for a Dinosaur Expo in Goseong. Goseong only has 60,000 which is small for Korea.
I can't imagine what Yeosu was like. |

Unfortunately, because they placed the Expo in a really inconvenient location that has a limited number of high speed trains arriving each day, this will probably be hard for a lot, if not MOST of the people living in Korea. |

This is ridiculous! thundered 37-year-old Park Seong-mo, who came from Jeonju, North Jeolla, to enjoy the expo. Ive been waiting in this damn line since 9 a.m. and the staff tells me Ill be waiting until 4 p.m. Am I here to see attractions or just hang out with a lot of strangers? |
Funny quip. |

So is there any advice for people who will be attending on a non-holiday weekend?
I can deal with waiting in lines for up to an hour, but I'll probably only have Saturday since I'll be taking a bus to and from Yeosu. |

Seems to be a general problem in Korea. At any given time, at the bottom of the deepest hole dug into the highest mountain located in the darkest forest, you will find that 50,000 other Koreans are already there to share your solitude.
I'm spending most of my relax time at home because that's the only place I have for myself (apart from toilet stalls once the office workers have finished reading their morning papers).
I don't see myself queuing up for attractions later in the 38C August heat either. |

Again: Chiaksan is chill, has nice mountains and rivers, and isn't inundated with people as the public transportation isn't great getting there. Find a car and find your way there. |

Thanks for the advice. Is it 치악산 in Korean? I want to look it up. |

Yep. It's the closest I've found to the Western New England of my youth in Korea. Most Koreans I've talked to have never even heard of it. |

So, how much does it cost to attend and have a good time? Can someone break it down? |

My glass is always half empty!
I'll meet my 50,000 in a huge traffic jam on my return to Seoul from Chiaksan |
