Hi,
I hope that you can help me.
Does anybody know about WILL Language School a.k.a WILL College of Foreign Languages, a hagwon situated in Daegu?
I have been searching the internet tirelessly but can't find a website or review regarding the establishment. |

I think I worked for them under the table years ago. The school is a Kindergarten and Afternoon style hagwon. The owner I dealt with was fine. Not a cheater, likely to deal honestly. Still when I was "helping" his school was still growing. This school is likely by now a single one hagwon, not part of a big chain like ECC or Wonderland.
The question is, is he still the boss?
So if you can deal with Kindy, then consider it.
The area if the school is still there is fine, bit edge of Daegu, but access to nice places. Daegu is also a good place to consider for a newbie. Not Seoul but a nice city to start on.
email me and I will send you my old business card scan of the owner. You can see if it is the same person.
Good Luck |

Hi Skippy,
Thanks for your post.
Sorry, can not email or pm you because of my noob-status apparantly.
The current director is Ji-Ae An and the school is situated in Manchon-dong, Suseongu. The school started operating in 2005 if I'm not mistaken.
I have spoken to her during the interview, and she seemed very nice. |

Nope sorry different WILL. Plus different boss/manager.
Still the area you are in is fine. Close to the subway. Well sort of. I worked in the area too. Nice. I suspect WILL is a smaller chain/branch school. Maybe comprised of a few schools.
In searching out the school another recommendation is ...
think a little like a Korean. Korea does not use google for search much, they use naver and/or daum. So consider brushing up on the basics of Korean writing/script and search those two portals. Also search for Ji-Ae's email address too if you have it.
Still the name is a bit generic and will lead to some walls. |

Thank you for your posts and the advice.
I will most definitely check out Naver and Daum, cheers. |

If we are thinking about the same WILL SCHOOL, and it's the only one I'm aware of in this area, it's in a good location, near a subway and a bus stop. If I remember correctly this school is owned by, or started by, a Korean woman who is married to a foreign guy. I believe it started operating around 2005. I've heard, in the past, that it's OK.
Now there is another WILL School, I think it would be considered situated just on the outside edge of Manchon-dong, that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
Sorry for all the ifs and lack of specific information. It's just that there can be more than one school in the same area with the same name, yet not affiliated. Too, what was a wonderful school in January can be a nightmare in June. |
