Is it possible to get Xanax or something comparable here? If so, could someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks. |

Any psychiatrist will hand them out. Just walk in and say you have anxiety/ fear of flying and that you were previously given XXX amount of milligrams. |

Check with the international clinic in Itaewon.
You can visit the website - http://www.internationalclinic.co.kr - to find contact information.
Unfortunately, if the doctor will prescribe it and you go there, they might consider your visit a 'psychiatric consultation' and charge you about 35,000 on top of the usual fee for a visit, which is about 14,000. Ask about it, to make sure.
Not exactly cheap, but if you really need it, it's an option.

Most average doctors will dish you a three week xanax script as well, which should be plenty if you only need it for flying, assuming you won't be jet setting for months on end. I wanted to get some xanax a while back and went to some doctor floor in an office building around where I work after I got off. The internal medicine room was packed, so I went across the hall to the empty dermatologist's office and he wrote me up right there. Just check out a couple doctors in Hongdae, the first you visit likely won't have a problem giving you a prescription.
Do not waste your time and money going to the IC in Itaewon. If you want a lot, see a psychiatrist like plchron said. I haven't done that myself but I know people who have. |

I suggested the IC in Itaewon only because it's easily accessible and the doctor speaks English, but you're right. I'm sure just about any doctor would be willing to write a prescription for Xanax or something like it.
I wrote a big post about my anxiety last month and ended up going to the doc in Itaewon only because I wanted to speak with someone fluent, as my problems were big and going on every day.
However, a week later, I visited a dermatologist in Seoul. He asked me if I was taking anything, and I told him I'm taking Rivotril. He said he'd save me the hassle of having to go back to the clinic in Itaewon and wrote me a prescription for it. |

Just go to any clinic and explain your situation. 3000won for the consultation at my local clinic, and even though the doc doesn't speak fluent English he had no problem writing a prescription. |
