I've got one of those 1 minute walk from my house. Very handy during the rainy season.

Why bother.

Full service laundries are all over and cheap as chips (cost you about the same as a laundromat (after you factor in the machines, soap, softener) for a full bag of laundry).

Just ask your co-teacher when you land. In the meantime, you will have a washer and should have a clothes rack in your apartment.

Precisely.

As for a DRYER, you may be surprised at your electricity bill if you use it a lot.....

All of the laundry places seem to only do laundry by the piece and not by weight.

Is there a certain type of place to look for, or a certain question to ask to just get wash and dry by the kilo?

Thanks

Our old building had a laundry service where you could pay a monthly fee and they would pick up your laudry every second day if you wanted. We used that service for a couple of years and they returned our clothes clean, dry and folded.

You'd be surprised at how quickly clothes dry without a dryer. I fully expected it to take a few days, when it actually takes a few hours.

You will survive without a dryer! You can buy Downy at Emart and your clothes will be fine. Jeans can end up a little stiff, but iron them, and you're good to go.
