A UK organisation has formed the Higher Education Degree Datacheck (www.hedd.ac.uk) so that potential employers are able to verify academic achievement.
This led me to wonder whether recruiters or Korean consulates (or budding teachers) are willing to pay 10 pounds so that they are able to verify the authenticity of a degree from one applicant (based in the UK), so that it makes the whole process of securing employment in Korea, as a teacher, a whole lot easier and cheaper. It would make sense if there was one organisation that provided such a service in each country.
What are your ideas? Are graduates really wishing to inflate their academic achievements in the hope to secure work (at home or abroad)?

I don't really see what HEDD is doing that an employer can't do already directly through the university.
In the case of Korea, we already have to submit a copy of our transcripts and diploma. |
