Hi, I'm Nick, aged 25, from Australia, have 6 months of teaching experience (China) + a TESOL cert + and I'm in my final year of college.
I can finish my degree online (by Nov this year) but in the meantime I'd love to have the opportunity to go and work/teach in South Korea if possible...
I've found that talk.go.kr may be able to offer me a position working in a 'rural' area.. but I'm wondering if there's any other agencies/schools that may be able to assist?
Thanks ! |

You can't legally work in South Korea unless you possess at least a Bachelor's degree diploma. You'll have to finish up your degree before you have any options related to working in Korea. |

You have to have already obtained your degree and have your diploma in hand, notarized and apostilled in order to get an E-2 visa to work in South Korea. So, plan on waiting until at least December, if not later (depending on when you're going to start getting your CBC, and how soon you can get an appt with the consulate, etc etc). |

TaLK is a special government program and that is why they get the pass on the completed degree for visa issuance. You still need to authenticate your educational background before they go forward with your application.
There is/are NO other legal / legitimate opportunities to work as a teacher in Korea until you have a degree (required by everyone regardless of citizenship or visa class).
Additionally you are required to have an apostilled, national, criminal background check from your home country.
Additionally, some first time applicants (if there is any question about the legitimacy of your credentials) are required to have a consular interview in their home country before a visa will be granted. Could very well occur with a distance degree.
