I was told by a recruiter that if I worked a six month contract I could "easily transfer" my visa to another school. AFAIK you have to do new paperwork every time you change employers in Korea. Am I correct?
I turned it down because this is going to be my first job in Korea and I want something that will last for an entire year. If I took the job (which ends in January) I would have to look for another job in four months. |

There is paperwork involved, but it's very simple. You go to the immigration office with a letter of release from your current employer, your ARC, contract from your new employer and some certificates from him about his business. You fill out a form. You pay the clerk a few Won. You wait a week or so. That's all there is to it. In most cases, the new employer will do all that for you. |

It is possible, but you won't get severance, and airfare is out of the question. Are they going to contribute to pension? What would the salary be and why do they only want you for 6 months? I'd pass personally, unless it were a camp (usually shorter) or you are signing up for the TALK program. |
