So I plan to move to Korea soon. My main instrument is guitar but I also like to play drums and piano. I can only assume since everyone lives in an apartment in Korea people go somewhere to jam with bands or play loud instruments like drums.

Anyone have experience going to places like this? What are they called? How much did they cost? What were the instruments like?

You can go to a music room if you live in Seoul. It's pretty cheap, you pay by the hour. There are a few in Hongdae. I'm a bit drunk so I am being vague - pm me for details!

most of the practice rooms aren't half bad. the instruments can vary from decent, to not so good. you'll pay an average of 12,000 won per hour. used to be a little cheaper at around 10,000/hr. but those places are really convenient for their price. most rooms will have a drum kit, 2 guitar amps, a bass rig, and a basic PA setup with vocal mics. also many have a basic keyboard too.

hongdae area has a huge selection of these rooms with various others scattered around the city.
