Hi,

I got an acer aspire one 722 netbook, which I have discovered must be greymarket, since there is no Acer Korea customer service or product line that I can find online.

Anyway, the screen has quit...still seems to turn on ok, not sure what else is happening, as the screen is black.

Apparently, this is a common problem for these units, due to a BIOS bug. I have followed instructions I found online to update the bios from a usb drive, but it does not seem to be working.

Crummy thing is less than a year old, anyone want to advise on the likelihoood / cost / practicality of fixing it here? Should I just not even bother?

Yongsan, Seon-in Plaza, left door, down the hall, on the right hand side.

Actually, it is the building to the right of the building that is labeled seon-in plaza. The one with the big, up-and-down, gigabyte sign on it (as you look across the tracks from Yongsan station) is the correct one.

It'll cost you 10k to find out what is wrong and determine if it is worth fixing or just scavenge your HDD out of it and put it into a hard-case to keep all your data.
