Well, we've passed the longest day of the year.
I'm glad the sun won't be rising at 5:11 AM (!) much longer.
OK, no one should ever complain about the sun rising, but I do wish daylight savings time would catch on here. |

Daylight savings time
That idea is comparable to someone explaining that they have a longer blanket from cutting 30cm from the bottom and sewing it to the top.
I'm so glad I don't live on the intelligent (if not logical) side of the Pacific.
Happy Solstice everyone! |

The reason for daylight savings time is to allow children that live on farms to be able to get up in the morning and do farmwork before going to school. |

Yep~ I always remember being told this, and I have to wonder why we still have this system in the States... I guess it's nice since the sun rises later than it does here, though...
I hate the early sunrise T.T I'm definitely buying curtains for my next place... *smh* |

Not necessarily for farmers.
Winston Churchhill started this to save energy (ie. lights) |

This is true if you are actually up and enjoying the sunlight at 5 am.
There are more people up between the hours of 8 and 9 pm than 5 and 6 am and thus your analogy really doesn't work.

DST reduces the daylight hours in the morning. Your statement makes no sense.

I like daylight savings. During summer, you get a few hours of daylight after work to do fun stuff. |

Now that we are post solstice, though the latest sunset isn't until the 27th, (I think) I too would like to see daylight savings in Korea. They tried it out for the Olympics, but the locals bellyached about it. Seems employers just made their workers stay later on the job. Sunsets about 9 pm would be wonderful. |
