Hi all,
I need to know - can parents or one parent come visit for a long period of time as in 6 months? I heard one can go ti Kimmi and ask them to extend a sojourn once or twice...not sure how many times..
Say you do this a few times to extend the person's stay for 6 months, would they try to stop the person from extending their stay?
Thanks for any help. |

You cant extend a tourist stay (visa waiver) for longer than the maximum length (90 days in most cases or 180 for some countries). Well, I did it once but only extended 1 month on the top of the 90 days and I got lucky I guess.
However you can always go to Japan or wherever you can find cheap tickets and come back. A new 90 days period will start from the re-entry. |

Show proof of the family relationship and they can get an F3 as dependent family members.
You can change their status IN KOREA from tourist to F3 without need of a visa run.
Typically you will need the birth certificate (long form) that shows them as your parents. (Wallet certs (when/where available) usually don't indicate parentage).
The certificate may need to be authenticated / certified if it doesn't have official government stamps on it.

If your parents are Canadian, then they are lucky; Canadians get a 180-day tourist visa from the start.
If they are not Canadian, then ... you've got suggestions in the posts above.
