I want to get Korail card so I can just use one of the machines instead of having to wait in line.

Is it possible for a foreigner to do this? I've tried registering on the site but I tend to get an error screen towards the end.

I've got one. Picked it up at Seoul Station. Filled out the application, paid the fee, and presto.

The iphone/android app can also be used with your ARC number. It's great when you're running late for the train. You don't even need to pick up a ticket. You can just hop on the train.

Wow thanks guys. I'll definitely be looking into the iPhone App and the card application at Seoul station.

I've come dangerously close to missing a few trains while waiting in line. It's so frustrating.

The Android app I use lets me choose seats.

You don't need a Korail card to use the vending machines in the train stations to buy tickets, you can just buy your ticket with cash or a credit card.

What is the advantage of a Korail card?

Is your app in English or in Korean? My app is in Korean. After I choose a train and log in, I can either just press 'reserve' and go to the payment stage, or I can choose my seats (좌석선택).
