Been in RK for about 24 hours but I can't get a KEB global ATM to give me money. There's money in the account and the debit card facility works in shops but not ATM machines.
Which option should I be using on the machine ? It's a visa debit card account but I've tried every option inc savings, credit cards but nothing. |

Did you call your bank before you left home and notify them that you would be out of the country? Some banks will automatically freeze your account for fraud verification purposes when one day you are buying groceries in one country and the next day you're withdrawing money on the other side of the world.
Also, I had this problem because I was using my credit card... some banks will give you two sets of cards, and you have to use the atm card rather than the one you usually use.
Good luck! |

Maybe try a different bank's global ATMs. Most banks of ATMs will have at least one global one, in Seoul and Gyeonggi anyway. Selecting checking has always worked for me. Also, if that doesn't work, I've found that my US ATM card will work at whatever convenience store ATM I use it at, so you might want to draw money out that way (I think they're more open due to the fact that they just want you to pay them). Be sure to check what network your card is on and that the machine you're using accepts it (obviously). Hopefully some of that helps you. |

If withdrawing from a checking account doesn't work, do as if you're asking for a cash advance on a credit card. That always works for me. |
