Hello all, I have a gamer question. If I buy a Korean-version XBOX, can I play Asian-region (NOT Korean-version) games on it? From what play-asia.com can tell me, Asian-region games can be in English in terms of dialogue and cut-scenes, whereas Korean-version games use Korean voice actors.

Has anyone purchased Asian-region games and played them on a Korean version XBOX successfully, and with English language dialogue instead of Korean dialogue, notably any of the Halo games? Thanks!

there are mod chips that take away region protections but i havent delved into that side personally. i dont think you can play online once its modded so its a double edged sword to go that route.

I saw that guide and it's actually informing my question. Since NTSC-J systems and games include Korean-version XBOX's, so they claim, certain Asian-region games should be able to play on a Korean version XBOX I think. But I wanted to know if someone has tried to play a game they purchased that is Asian-region on a Korean-version XBOX, but NOT a Korean-version game.

Like, for example, Halo Reach Asia-Region in English. According to the compatibility grid, such a game exists and should work on a Asian-region game console. Korea being in Asia...

any game designated "ntsc-j" will run on your korean-bought xbox. and of course any game designated "no region protection" will also work.
