Korea is a beautiful country! I really like how there are mountains everywhere and I can drive less than two hours to an amazing beach. The weather is usually pretty good except for in the Monsoon season. I love the cool dry winters here too. The winters are a really good time a year to get out and climb some mountains. Get out and enjoy some nature folks.

I'm more interested in architecture, so I may have to disagree with you there. I wouldn't recommend Korea as a tourist destination to many people.

Yes, there are a lot of mountains that are good for exercise. But I would never claim it to be a beautiful country. The closest it gets is autumn, I guess.

The valleys and streams in the countryside are nice. The beaches and mountains are mediocre. As for the weather, it reminds me of back home- Random at times and prone to extremes. Autumn is nice though. The downside is the pollution, especially the light pollution, which really hampers things.

Ever been to Yosemite? Grand Tetons? Jackson Hole? Grand Canyon? Santa Barbara? Table Mountain? I'd agree that Korea has some natural beauty, but be careful not to get too carried away.

Only if you can see the forest for the Koreans.

No offense but you have low standards. I suppose every country is beautiful in their own way.

lol, I have actually and I had a season pass to Whistler in BC in past too. The sking is pretty bad in Korea IMO but I prefer hiking in Korea opposed to BC. In BC every trail is in the forest and you never get great vistas like in Korea. Most countries are beautiful in their own way.

I wouldn't come to Korea for apartment architecture for sure. Laughing

I'd like hiking in Korea a lot more if the switchback had arrived on its shores.

To each his own. My dustbin is beautiful to the bacteria living there.

After visiting almost 30 countries I have to say Korea is the least beautiful of any which I have visited. The buildings are the ugliest I have ever seen, people throw trash everywhere and little attempt is made to keep the place clean.

Yes the mountains and countryside are ok but every country I have visited has better mountains and better beaches, with the exception of Holland & Belgium who make up for it by having beautiful cities.

There really are some beautiful parts to Korea...I live in the country side and can vouch for this.

The problem is that a lot of the people living in Seoul cant really get to the beautiful areas as they're usually out of the way.

I live in a valley that's rather breathtaking at some points. Unfortunately the Korean government will be filling it with water to make a reservoir soon. Sad
