My fiance and I are thinking of only going to the festival for the Friday shows . Does anyone know the best way to get back to the Gangnam area after the shows are finished? I imagine it would be quite late by then. They don't allow camping for one night.
Are there taxis usually waiting around there? Or would that be a bad idea-too expensive?

Any info would be great!
Thanks!

Not sure about anything going back. A taxi to Gangnam would set you back somewhere in the region of 190,000w (give or take).

Check the info on transportation on the Jisan Valley website.
There are buses leaving at midnight back to Seoul Station and Sadang.
Massive Attack finishes around 11pm so there's plenty of time to get that bus back. You need to pre-book the special buses there and back.

A group of us, from 5 minutes from the Jisan site to a little north of Gangnam, got charged 140,000w a few weeks back (but this was inclusive of a fairly reasonable discount because we use the same taxi driver all the time). Add in that it's going to be late and there are going to be hardly any taxis about. 190,000 might seem over the odds, but it's not necessarily that unreasonable.

Shuttle buses on Friday are only leaving at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00pm. Worthless for getting there if you're working late...

Edit: Just realized I bumped a dead thread. For my newbie-ness, here are some helpful links:

Scroll down to see the Jisan poster with Shuttle Bus information if you need a Departing or Returning ticket. (I did get a return, but depart is tricky for me)

To get to the festival from Seoul, you need to take
Quote:
Seoul Express Bus Terminal (Subway Line 3)
Take the Gyeongbu-line (Seoul-Busan) bus to Yongin Bus Terminal
Take Bus 103, and get off at Jisan Forest Resort/Gyeonghee mart
From the bus stop, walk westbound along Jisan-ro Street for about 70m

[Gyeongbu-line bus] Schedule: 06:30-22:10, 20-40min intervals
Estimated travel time: 50min
Fare: 2,800 won

[Bus 103] Estimated travel time: 1hr

as seen on the Official Tourism Site.

For booking the Express Bus, please use this website, the KOBus.
