You should go to a proctologist for that. If you can't find one, then I suppose that a dermatologist would probably have sufficient knowledge of skin related ailments to check you out.

talk about nasty the op had a valid question. skin cancer is a big problem especially as you get older and have other factors

go to an int clinic at one of the major hospitals (Severence, Asan, Soonchunhyang, NOT the Int Clinic in Itaewon) the dr. there will check you out and if needed refer you to a dermatologist. I went to Asan this week and had it some checked, yeah it cost me around 70k for both consults but it was worth it just for peace of mind and getting a baseline on my moles

malignant melanoma usually occurs in already existent moles, not new ones- usually. Any how you don't need to see an oncologist (they wouldn't send you to one anyway) a dermatologist will look at it and know immediately if it looks bad.

피부과 is skin clinic. They should be able to look at them. But, they have told me that Koreans don't get skin cancer or at least not like us. So, not sure how expert his opinion will be. Got some zapped with laser for 10,000 won a mole with insurance. Doesn't get rid of them, just reduces the appearance of them.

You're right. I was being a jerk. I shouldn't have joked about it, and for THAT I apologist.

BUT it was just a really odd question to ask - as if you would go to a different specialist here than you would back home.

Why would you even ask that on a forum populated by people with no medical background? If you think you've got cancer, you don't ask a bunch of English teachers what to do about it. You go to a doctor!

buh!? because they live in korea? because they may have experience being on the patient-side of it? holy hell i'm not asking anyone to diagnose anything, hence the lack of pictures of moles on my left ass cheek.

i went through heck and back just to get a prescription filled. i don't want to go to what i think is a "dermatologist" only to find out they deal with superficial issues only or needles or skin whitening or what the heck ever and there's another type of dermatologist/oncologist that deals with serious medical issues and i don't want to figure that out the hard way two years down the line because of a miscommunication in the doctor office. i said it might be a dumb question but it certainly isn't an insane one when you're in a foreign country and don't want any room for error.

thank you everyone who took the time to answer my question.
