Hello to all. I'm an American and looking for work in Korea and I would like to know the required docs for a private academy job. I know to get an E-2 visa for public school work you need a ton of stuff done, but I just want to try for a private after school job. I know I would need my school transcripts sealed, my degree with an apostille and a fed level CBC with an apostille and my resume. Anything else? Also can I apply for a job in Korea through a third country? I'm currently working as an esl teacher in Shanghai, China and would like to go straight to Korea from China. I guess I could just go to the Korea consulate to get all my paper work verified. I have worked in Korea previously so would I need to go through an interview again? Any replies would be helpful. |

coming back in:
2 x degree copies with apostille (1 for immigration and 1 for the MOE). The MOE will accept immigration made copies after you arrive).
2 x FBI check with apostille (1 for immigration and 1 for the MOE - see above).
Transcript usually not needed for out of country E2 applications or subsequent applications.
Self medical statement.
Passport type photos.
resume
cover letter.
Yes, if you are legally resident in China you can get an E2 from a Korean consulate in China. Processing usually takes a couple of days.
As an American you can also go to Japan, Guam or Thailand for overnight service.
The Philippines (Manila) or Hong Kong can also provide you with a visa but will take about 4 days to process it.
