im not in korea right now, and i'm trying to search google on the prices and details of this service but cant find anything from 2012
does anyone know how much it costs for a 1 year contract? are there download and upload limits? is there any way to use it less than a year without doing daily rentals?
i think this would be a good solution for me instead of getting internet at home and a phone, next time i come. probably will run it with either my nexus 7 or samsung gio while out and about.
last time i used the olleh wifi single plan but the connection was absolutely horrible. definitely not wifi quality, and that's sitting next to their wireless routers in the bus. it would sit loading for a long time to send a kakaotalk message, but if my gf shared her 3g connection to my ipod touch via bluetooth on her iphone 4s it was faster. that tells you something. that said, i could get a kakaotalk message out from most subway and bus locations. |

Not sure if you found your answer in the tech forum, but I've been using the new Olleh Wibro Egg for about 6 months now.
I actually bought mine as a package with the iPhone 4GS when it came out back in 2011. I pay roughly 5,000 won/month since it was a promotion with the iPhone.
If you get one on its own, you'll be paying about 27,000 won/month for a 1 year contract. This includes the cost for the device as well. The data cap is set at 50 GB/month. Unless you plan on doing a lot of movie torrenting, you should be fine.
The battery lasts about 7 hours on a full charge and the speed isn't too bad. I'd say it's noticeably faster than 3G on my iPhone, but definitely slower than LAN/WIFI. If you plan on just surfing the web, chatting, and reading/sending emails, the egg is the way to go. Gaming, youtubing, downloading movies on the other hand...
