NOTE: This isn't a 'religious' post. I'm just inquiring.
One Sunday I visited Hwa Gye temple / 화계사 in NE Seoul.
Although I don't practice it so well I do consider myself more or less Buddhist in philosophy.
That Sunday I attended the talk following the meditation session and was poorly impressed. I didn't think the man speaking knew what he was talking about, and I was the only person to raise any critical question.
So, now I'd like to take a friend to a temple for a vegetarian meal.
But I don't know a good alternative.
I might visit there again anyway, and just forget about the Western 'monks' there. But if you would like to recommend an alternative temple where we could have a simple meal, please do! :)
My friend is from Seoul, and I can speak basic Korean, so doesn't matter if no one speaks English. But I'd like to take her to someplace that's not too famous. |
