My best friend here in Korea just renewed at his current school for another year. He was worried about getting his visa renewed for another year because of a misdemeanor arrest showing up on his FBI check. He received his new visa yesterday valid until 2013. I guess it really does work on a case by case basis..Never give up hope! |

I've posted about ways two people I know have gotten their E2 visa with criminal records. To quickly reiterate what was done, they wrote K-immi a letter explaining how irrelevant the charges are to an ESL teaching position.
Thanks for the post, it's encouraging amidst all the fear mongering and doubtful posts on that subject. |

Yes, same as my friend. They gave him a document called "Self explanatory form" to write out in English and hand in with his documents. |
