Hi everyone.

I was just wondering about the precise process of applying to public schools.

1. I understand that instead of applying to immigration, you apply to the Ministry of Education instead, is that correct?

2. If applying to the Ministry of education, does that mean that the applicant does not deal with Korean immigration at all? Would it be done through the embassy in ones own country?

Thanks in advance for the info.

You provide your CBC and diploma, along with their apostilles, to the provincial or metropolitan city Office of Education. They, in turn, guarantee to Immigration that you have submitted those documents. Finally, you apply to Immigration for your visa.

You can get, at no cost, a Korean notarized copy of the documents submitted to the P/BMOE which you will need if you plan to apply for a hagweon job anywhere in Korea or for a public school job in another province or metropolitan city.
