I have read that the university must put a stamp/seal over the crease on the back of the envelope, but the transcripts I received have the university stamp underneath the crease. Will this be accepted by the Korean consulate? I don't want to drive 8 hours there only to have my visa denied because of this little detail. I am applying to private schools and hagwons, if that makes any difference.

You don't need transcripts in order to be issued a visa, so it's unlikely your visa will be denied due to improper stamping technique.

I think the States does not need a transcript anymore. Your best option is to check your nearest Korean Consulate Webpage to see what the ask for concerning degree and verification.

Do you mean the stamp/seal is under the flap. I think as long as the envelope is sealed/glued you will be fine.

Using your "North Caroline' location. I think you are with the Atlanta Korean Consulate.

Thanks for the replies. I've looked on several different recruiters' websites and they all say different things so I wasn't sure. Thanks again.

I was told to bring my transcripts to the consulate in order to receive my visa. I don't really think it matter where the stamp is, as long as it's on a sealed envelope.
