Don't know too much, they opened about a month ago, something to do with the old ELC schools, some of them have changed to Hivel, I think under the same managers as the old ELC but I am not 100% certain. You can probably ask to speak to the employees they had when the school was ELC, I think most of the teachers have stayed either at ELC or been moved to Hivel.

The Hivel school did start from a rift at the Samsan ELC. I suspect it is a generic hagwon, so it has it plus' and negatives. ELC has lost a lot of it's clout in Ulsan due to the emergence of another hagwon which seems to be stealing alot of ELC's thunder. IMO, schools that are declining are awful to work for.

Anyone found any more information on Hivel English Academy in Ulsan? I am thinking about taking a job there. Please let me know.

There is a Hivel in Buk-gu, Ulsan, that hasn't paid its last two foreign teachers. They owe one teacher about two months pay, and another teacher about 4 months pay. Also, no pension, healthcare, and an apartment lacking basic appliances, from what I was told. There is currently no foreigner at that school, but they may be trying to get another (unfortunately).

They are currently being sued through the Labor Board for over 10,000,000 won.

Make sure you ask to contact the teacher that is working there to verify it is not the one in Buk-gu that is screwing people. If they say they have no teacher or if they make excuses, it probably is the place in question. Avoid it like the plague.
