Hi there,

I'm Canadian. I'm finishing my contract and leaving Korea August 6th. I asked my assistant director for some help in dealing with getting my national pension plan money back. He said that I have to give them my Canadian bank account information, and once they know that I've actually landed back in Canada, they'll wire the money to my account. Is this standard procedure? Or is there a way to get the money in Korea, before I leave? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sean

Basically, you go to the pension office with your:
ARC,
passport,
bank information for the deposit and
exit ticket.

They confirm your departure and that all payments have been made then forward the balance to you. It is all pretty standard.

There IS a booth at the airport to get a cash refund BUT there ARE restrictions. The details are available on the NPS website.
