Can't say I blame him, who'd want to play in Canada? $36 million wasn't enough to entice him to go to his home country to play and end his career. The Suns are cashing in on this deal and if the Lakers don't win with Nash somebody ought to be fired.

"The exact picks the Suns will receive are the 2013 and 2015 first-round picks and the 2013 and 2014 second-round picks.
The amount of cash the Suns will receive is estimated to be about $3 million."

He wants to play on a team that can win a championship. Raptors can't do that. Nothing to do with the country.

While LA, New York, San Francisco, Miami and perhaps Chicago are fantastic cities for a professional athlete to live in.......

Are you seriously saying that Sacramento, Phoenix, Denver, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Houston, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, Orlando, Minneapolis Boston, Memphis, Salt Lake and Oklahoma City are better than Toronto in terms of

lifestyle
women
people
women

?

I know you're a troll Los Angeloser but you suck at trolling.

Where you from in LA anyways. Likely some loser from the valley.

Pro athletes avoid playing for Canadian teams because of the higher tax rates. They also like to play for teams in Florida and Texas because there is no state income tax. US soldiers often follow the same principles while establishing a tax home.

ah the mentioned cities are pretty the same as Toronto except the weather is better and in L.A's case the media attention I am not slamming toronto i ts a nice second tier city with lousy weather but the money is in L.A,also the fame the women. It's the bigtime

.Nash is not that big a deal. Never killed the bull, Kobe probably on downside. Nash sells a few more tickets. Thats about it. Phoenix rebuilds younger and faster, not a bad move for either team and Nash gets to play in a media center and get some endorsement money finally.

Still be fun to see if he can get the pick and roll going with Gasol and Bynum, then dish to Kobe in good spots and let'im rip it up a little...an' then see how much other teams will go at Nash when he's back on defense Twisted Evil

Nash can't play D, Bynum will need to wake up. And Brown is going to have to not suck at coaching. Otherwise they can't do much more in the playoffs with Pau and Kobe a year older.

Lower taxes in LA than Toronto ofc, a small chance at a ring and it's a short jet ride to see his kids in Phoenix.

Of all those cities you mentioned I've been to 10 of them, what about you? I've never been to Toronto and don't plan to go. One thing I learned about Toronto since my stint in S. Korea is that plenty of "women, people, women" there aren't too keen on the U.S. Whenever I hear about a S. Korean student going there for English I tell them not to go for they might find too much in common with those in Toronto and then suggest Vancouver.

So, from what I know about Toronto the answer to your question("lifestyle, women, people, women") is yes!

"Antawn Jamison is joining up with Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash to chase a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers."
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8178315/source-antawn-jamison-join-los-angeles-lakers-one-year-deal

And Dwight Howard could be next...

"Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak hasn't commented on the club's interest level in Howard, speaking instead about his interest in supplementing his addition of Nash with a handful of veteran bench players."

In terms of women, I'm sure Phoenix tops Toronto. Lifestyle? I'd choose New Orleans, DC, and Denver over toronto. Tax wise, Orlando makes a lot of sense (no state income tax in FL).

Out of all those cities you listed, I'd choose Toronto over Sactown, Milwaukee, Indy, Houston, Orlando, and maybe Philly. I'm not a fan of cold weather though...

Toronto is a nice city. I visited recently and had a great time. It is very stuffy, as are all Canadian cities. I'd not live there. The Tampa metro is great if you can stand driving lots. St Pete Beach is great. Great fishing, wonderful people and a blanket of drop dead gorgeous women everywhere you look. No state income tax and a fair cost of living. LA has the glam and if you're rich like Nash the Hollywood Hills offer a retreat from the masses of underclass below. I wouldn't want to live in LA. Toronto v LA is a wash. He wants to win. LA and Miami in the finals.

Stuffy? What do you mean? I think Vancouver rocks.

Phoenix, Denver, New Orleans, Philly, DC and Boston are better than stuffy Toronto. Wink

I hope LA doesn't get Howard. They don't need a whiner with a weak offensive game and a bad back. I'd rather have a weird Bynum with bad knees and good offensive game who gets a decent amount of boards.
The old man Jamison addition is fun, I think they can still get almost 30 decent minutes from him.

The downtown area of Vancouver and in particular the west end is awesome. Gastown is improving. The rest of the city is suburban hell. East Van is where unemployable white people go to get tattoos and eat "authentic" food from wherever. If I had no familial responsibilities I'd probably live in the west end. The climate in Vancouver really bad. Since we're talking about cities, which is my favorite topic after neo-reactionary claptrap, I wanna talk flowers of Southern college towns. The big college towns in Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, Georgia and elsewhere are great. Oxford Miss has an amazing nightlife. Nash can't play there, so I've hijacked.

I couldn't disagree with you more. It'd be nice if it rained less, but other than that, it's a great climate. Mild winters, comfortable summers with low humidity... I definitely wouldn't call that "really bad."

It is total overcast and spitting rain from October till May without respite. The weather is horrible. The summer is glorious. 3 months of 12.
