Shocked One of those Oh Korea Moments! Shocked

There was a fight outside school...and no one was doing anything, since I was the first teacher on the scene...I tried to separate through talking - English of course so I got no results...so after Kid A kicked Kid B in the head 3 times I pulled a Full Nelson out on Kid A. Twisted Evil

I'm a white, female, English teacher....I'm curious to see what today will bring at school...mostly the other kids laughed at me... Very Happy

I would NEVER do this in Canada........ Embarassed

Maybe I should just carry around the Stick with me?!??!?! Surprised

Confused What would you have done???? Confused

If you're Irish, then a good headbutt would work. Otherwise the full-nelson might not have been a bad idea if you know how to do it without seriously hurting the kid. That's just IMHO, and I've never had to break up a fight between kids.

Excellent work frogrocket!

I've always been a fan of slapping a figure four leglock on one of the kids, but your full nelson is solid work....and strangely arousing.

As long as no one got hurt I think you did the right thing. I also think that the other students will make fun of you the first day but most of them might think you're a good teacher for what you did.

Ohh they are laughing now.. but they will stop real quick once you keep your ground and start the I dont take any S**T attitude..

well thats becuase they would have stopped once you told them too.
they ignored you becuase they have no respect for you.. if that was a korean teacher they would have stopped before he even got to them..

why not? dont be affraid to lay down the law when you have to..
korean kids are a special breed.. they get bad home education. so they get hit often acually they expect to be hit in a class.. or threatend.. if they are not they see it as a sign of weakness from the teacher..
of course only if they are 5-6 grade ele, or middle schoolers..and higher

I wouldnt of even told them to break it up I would have just ran straight in there and pushed hard apart.. then threatend the boy who thought he was gangsta for a day!! and made sure he knows to never F***K with me
when I say NO it means no!! it doesnt mean YEAH YEAH ill stop when im ready too thank you very much..

then I would be in trouble with my stupid hakwon director for breaking it up, cuz it was my fault..and I dont know anything about children, he/she knows far more than me becuase he/she just bought a hakwon 2 months ago.. and is now the most experienced hakwon owner in the country. and doesnt have any children but knows kids more than any other person in the world.. so what I did was wrong.. and I should never interfer again!
even if he is going to stab him with a pen in his eye!
I should go call a korean teacher and let them talk to them !!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH.. becuase the mothers get angry!
typical afraid to lose money!!!
maybe thats why I have worked at over 25 schools..in 7 years..
hahahahah just I love standing up in that Stupid I know it all korean face and saying YOU KNOW NOTHING!!!! you're an IDIOT!!!
I quit!!!!
hahhahaha

The only thing with the full nelson is you gotta bury your face into the persons neck, otherwise you're exposed to the backwards headbutt ... good work!

While I was "Stone Cold Teacher" in my classes last year, I found that my bellowing yell was 99% of the time more than enough to break something up. So long as you didn't maul the kid into oblivion, though, everything's okay.

Oh no, you just use both hands on the back of the head and bury the top of their head into the floor and roll them right on up to their shoulders!! Laughing Sorry, got carried away....I used to coach wrestling. Carry on. Cool

Yeah, but full nelsons are illegal... I much prefer the three quarter nelson. That was my signature move for 6 years.

That has to be one of the funniest thing I have heard in a long time...! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

They would have stopped because you told them too...yes of course. That happens all the time.

A fight in a schooyard in Canada, its snowing, kids going at it.

Teacher walks near: "Stop"

An eerie silence falls over the courtyard as the voice of authority still resonates, all one can hear is the snow falling...the kids standing there frozen by the sheer power of the teachers voice..after all the teacher had told them to stop...

Kids: "Yes Teacher, we apologize for fighting and will never do it again."

There was never another fight at that school....and everyone lived on happy and content. Laughing Laughing

yeah I rem those days too Homer when you got into a fight you feared the teacher to death.. Frankly i would have picked the kids up by the scruff of there necks but since kids do tend to be squirmy i would have run in between them and locked there arms behind there neck and haul them away.. but it woudl be a bit harder with kids (i'm using my bouncer techniques Laughing ) so a full nelson was a good way to go!
