The whole thing was pretty cool. It's amazing what science and teamwork can do. The Mohawk Guy said it would take one person 5,000 years to do the same job alone.
I hope Curiosity helps spur a renewal of interest and support for the space program. |

I really feel the space program should be something every country should be contributing to, without question NASA are the leaders, I think every country need to fund them not only the American tax payers.
with more funding, more can be accomplished, this operation cost , something like 2billion dollars? 8 years work?
well how about if they had 10 billion dollars? or 20 billion dollars?
I mean come on. space exploration benefits EVERY human from every country. so everyone should be pitching in something. |

Aren't you the same person who questioned the whole point of the Higgs Boson particle discovery? |

Maybe several smaller countries could work together and form a space agency together. They could call it something like the European Space Agency for example and it could even cooperate with NASA for some of its missions. It might be difficult for such an agency to get to the same level as NASA, but I think a revenue of 5 billion dollars or so would be realistic. |

Doesn't NASA have joint projects? |

Not sure how it benefits everyone.
In the end, its going to be a fight for who owns the new planet if everyone contributed.
This way, its whoever gets their first. |

One easy example of how it does:

We use NASA satellites, ground measurements, and commercial satellites data in this project. Results from NASAs climate forecast model are also used for risk prediction.
Objective 1: Larval Habitat Detection
While the potential larval habitats with larger footprints can be easily identified in remotely sensed imagery data, it is more difficult to detect smaller larval habitats. We have developed textural-contextual techniques that can significantly improve classification accuracy of smaller habitats when satellite data with very high spatial resolution are used. |
NASA is a particularly helpful agency due to all the copyright-free information they release. |
