I'm considering a move outside of Seoul (barely) to ease my commute. Can anyone give me the scoop on neighborhoods/areas in Gwacheon? The closer to Seoul and/or public transportation, the better. Looking for 3BR villas or apartments for cheonsae.

Probably you are aware of this but Gwacheon is more expensive than most parts of Seoul.
Gwacheon has two subway stations and you can reach one of them in less than 10 minutes from anywhere in the city. There arent many villas.
There are a whole bunch of old apartments (30 years) that will be redeveloped in the coming 1-2-3 years. For this reason and because they are old- they are quite affordable these days. But the downside is that no one really knows when the construction starts so you might be forced to move out before the contract ends. 150-180 million will get you a 3 bedroom jeonse in these old apartments.
New ones will cost quite a bit more, 400ish.
You will find significantly cheaper apartments just one station further in Anyang. |
