Anyone know when The Dark Knight Rises comes out in Korea? I couldn't find the release date on IMDB.

It came out on the same day you made this posting which was yesterday (July 19th). I saw it last. I was impressed.

I fell asleep for a bit around the 45 minute mark. I one is lucky, these theater chairs can be so comfortable. Actually I'm hoping for a Director's Cut on Blu-Ray that's 30-45 minutes shorter than the theatric version. I could definitely do without the sobby orphan stuff at the end and oh boy, did they copy "Falling Skies" (without the alien part) for their vision of what American resistance could look like under communist rule.

The beneficiary is "Prometheus"; that movie just move up one notch on my list of "Most disappointed expectations of 2012."

Can only hope that Peter Jackson will not let me down in December.

Too much talking/dialogue, not enough action. Movie sucked. I give it 2/3 stars. Spiderman was way better. Save your money.

Given that much of the dialog came from Bane who mumbled like a crossover of Sean Connery and Deckard Cain ("Hello my friend. Stay awhile and listen..."), it was hard at times.

By itself not a bad movie and still great in the Batman series, but it was so hard to top the Dark Knight... comparison to Star Wars, Batman has met his Ewoks in the thrid installment.

Yeah I felt the same way. Not a bad movie but stacking it up next to the first two, it's kind of my least favorite. The err plot twist is a sticking point, as is Bane's voice being difficult to understand at times.

That said, I enjoyed it and didn't feel like it was a waste to see it.

Yeah... I was thinking Bane was Sean Connery in a Darth Vader mask.
The plot twist was unnecessary and ridiculous. It ruined the dynamic between the most important characters.

But it was still better than the Amazing Spiderman. That was a big old steaming pile compared to the Toby Maguire series. The torment of unrequited love between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson was one of the best plotlines of any comic series I've ever known. The new movie makes that a tiny footnote, and with a different girl. What a waste.

In my opinion...

The Dark Night Rises>Prometheus>Avengers>Spider-Man.

I agree with other posters that Bane was more bantering blowhard than terrifying villain. At least Anne Hathaway was a total robo-babe.

I agree with the first part of your post. While I do think Avengers did what it set out to do much better than Prometheus, Avengers isn't really my kind of movie.

I disagree it's been a disappointing summer, except for Prometheus. The Dark Knight Rises met all of my expectations and I prefer it over the Dark Knight. I don't get the gripe with Bane's voice as I understood him perfectly fine. I liked his voice and Tom Hardy did a wonderful job with the character.

I can make a list of all the flaws in this movie but too much talking isn't one of them. That's a weird criticism for any movie actually.

I think i was the only one who noticed bane's speaking style. Everyone else was reading the subtitles.

It was interesting that Hines Ward was in the movie but didn't he play for Pittsburgh? Gotham is supposed to be NYC, right?

Gotham is of course an indirect reference to New York. Still, the comic book creator of Batman chose not to call it New York because he wanted to give the stories a more universal appeal. Thus, Gotham City is some combination of cities such as New York, Boston, and Chicago.
