I guess I just need to vent.
Is it me or am I crazy?
I go to the hair dresser and explain how I want my hair cut. They say okay then cut and style the way they want. This has happened more than once.
I decide to get business cards made up. So, I go to what seems like a reputable business card making establishment. The first set of cards made has a spelling mistake. Fair enough, no problem I'll just wait for the correction to be made but I also asked for English on the front of the card and Korean on the back. The cards are all English on the front and my name in Korean on the front. That's it.
I guess I'm irritated with the services and I'm also irritated with myself for being a pushover.
I've lived here for over two years now and I've never vented on-line so this is a first for me.
Thanks for listening! |

I answered an ad in the Koreaherald from a lady offering to "help foreingers get a Samsung Credit Card because she sympathises with how difficult it is."
So my girlfriend and I met with the girl (uni age). She shows us the card rates and information. I decide it's not in my best interest to get a card. She then gets all upset, and whines to me about how "every foreinger wants to get this card' and "you should pay me something for my time to come here, because I offered you English service. No other cards offer this service."
My girlfriend was livid. She laid into the chick (who was younger) and made her cry. My gf was appalled that someone would try to take advantage of foreigners this way (expecting money even though I decided against the card), and she reported her to Samsung Card.
They apologized, and said it's definitely NOT their policy, and that the sales chick was in the wrong. |

Why? Can't you remind them or get up and leave? It's not their head. |

You need to go to the english speaking hairdresser in iTaewon. Above burger king.
getting a monolingual Korean to do the job is bound to end in dissapointment, unless you simply want your head shaved. |

I finally opted for the head shaving. You'd be surprised how clean and flattering a shaved head is (although I get a #12 blade shave). |
