Hi everyone,
My sister is in the process of applying to come here and she got an offer from Gwanak SLP. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this school or knows anyone who has?
I'm looking for information about this specific school, not SLPs in general. I've been in Korea over a year and worked at 2 SLPs, I had one bad experience at my first school but my second school is pretty great. So I know a lot of hagwons depend on the branch, anyone have any feedback on Gwanak?
Will they pay you on time? Are they professional? etc |

Worked there back in 2003.
Sollid, reliable hkwan, no shafting on pay etc. Everyone wa shappy and several peeps I knew renewed.
Ask if T.J. is sill running the place, if so it should still be okay.
Not bad for an entry level job, though tell her to shoot for the afternoon gig not the morning kindy plus after ele gig, I did that and it burned me out.
Nice location, central to Seoul, the apts were small but functional and well furnished etc. |

Hey, new to this site so I can't pm you, sprog. I was just accepted to work at the Gwanak SLP. Anyone else have any details on this hagwon?

hehe i also just got a job offer for SLP Gwanak
so that must mean that:
1. we will soon be seeing eachother in person
or
2. they will hire the person they feel is best out of all of us |

| The best thing all of you can do is find other native English speakers (Americans, Canadians, Brits, whatever) who work at this school on Facebook. Do a workplace search thing. Start messaging them if you want the real story. Most people aren't willing to post the information you need to know on a public board. That's how I learned about my old hagwons before I started working there. Needless to say, I'm a public school teacher now. |
