Besides the Hamilton.

Outdoor if it's clean, otherwise indoor.

Thanks.

Ps what's the Hamilton actually like?

There's an indoor one on the main road going up to Itaewon the same side as all the cafes and restaurants a bit further up. Never been to the Hamilton but seen pictures and it looked much too overcrowded, suprise surprise. If you can afford it, go to Phillips Gym near the Hyatt. I've been there a few times and never had more than 4 other people in the pool at the same time.

The one on the corner, mentioned above, is pretty typical of a public indoor pool, IMO. No real frills... and tons of classes for old folks on the go.

The Hamilton seems to be less about the pool, and more about the party. If you're into a bit of eye candy, that's a fine enough place to be.

agreed. Was way better a few years ago, but it's now like and outdoor
UN Club. Ratio of guys to girls has turned it more of a sausage party than it has been in the past. However the chicks that are their are pretty prime.

Thanks for the replies folks.

I called up to that place between HBC and Itaewon on the hill and while the price is fairly attractive for pool plus the small gym membership, I'm a little put off by the fact that only 2 of the swimming lanes are open at any one time. The rest are reserved for classes.

I find this a bit bizarre. I can understand them reserving lanes for classes at certain times but for it to be all morning and all evening is crazy. The only time that there are more lanes open is between 2 and 3 when I'm at work.

So, what other pool/gym combos are there near HBC/Itaewon?

Thanks again.

Actually I'm interested in hearing more about the Phillips gym. What kind of facilities do they have, and what's the membership fee?

The last time I went was about 2 years ago. Their facilities are pretty good, gym, sauna and swimming pool always fairly empty but the membership fee isn't really worth it unless you go 5 times a week, week in week out. And it's pricey. I stopped going when they put their one off price up from 15,000 to 18,000 won. Too much of an increase fior my liking. So the monthly membership'll probably be around 350,000.
