I'm sending a few important documents from USA to Korea. I'll pay extra for the online tracking ability but I worry slightly that the address won't be understood. I'll have someone put both Korean and English on the envelope in the USA (I'm in Korea now).

Anyone ever lose things in the mail? I can't afford to lose these documents. General advice and experience regarding mail from the USA to Korea would be appreciated.

Personally, I've never had any difficulties with mail here, for either packages or letters/cards/documents. That being said, if it's that important you might want to look into Fed Ex. As long as the Korean address is written in clearly in a reasonable transliteration, it should be okay if you don't have the Hangul.

Def. go w/Fedex, DHL, Aramex, etc. I'd be surprised if they even need the Korean version. As long as the English address is correct, the transliteration should be taken care of for you and it'll get delivered.

This is perfect advice. I've had many pieces of mail go missing on the way to me here. IMO the mail system is unorganized and unsecure. I've had things come to me opened as well.

FedEx automatically gives you online tracking each step of the way in both countries from origin to destination. For me, the speed, transparency, reliablity, and accountability were worth the expense.
