For me it has been rotten food, dirty dishes in the sink and an unflushed toilet.
On the positive side I also found a couple of extra rolls of toilet paper, 50 won, and bath soap (unused). There was a toothbrush next to it but I wasn't going to risk it if it too was unused. |

| Koreans don't make any attempt to clean their apartments when they leave and I'm pretty sure they just don't bother cleaning it all for three years before they move out. In my personal opinion it's a disgusting habit, but that's just part and parcel of living in Korea. On the plus side whenever Koreans do visit my apartment they praise me for its cleanliness. It's also nice to return the favor when I move out. |

That's hard to believe. I always look at the Koreans as being like the Japanese in terms of cleanliness. Another thing the apartments handed out to NET teachers might have been occupied by another NET teacher previously. |

I found 80,000won is rolled 500won coins behind the bookcase~~
Used that to buy a couple bottles of Tequila and have a nice moving in party. |

| I found an unopened bottle of Makoli and a bootleg porn DVD, I think it was Russian or something??? They were doing things I've never even heard of (until now) and cant even mention it on here without the risk of being banned. |

| Yeah, it wasn't Korea that produced the anime-movie "Twighlight of the Roaches". I don't know what's happened in Korea but I've yet to see a roach, yet. Must've employed Daleks to exterminate 'em. |

The NET in my apartment before me was quite generous.
He left:
a backpack, sleeping bag, soccer ball, a Japan tour book , an unopened bottle of whiskey , & 2 'swords' - one sword is solid wood, & the other sword is made up of thin strips of rattan.
The place was very clean as well.
I plan on paying it forward and am leaving all that stuff for the next NET in 2 years when I move (gotta replace the whiskey bottle though.) That didn't stand a chance my first week here! |

I never found anything interesting or useful in any apartment that I moved in there. It was always just the usual filfth that the previous tenant left behind (moldy bathroom, greasy fire hazard kitchen, etc...) as a gift.

Good on you. I did the same when I left there for good. The teacher replacing me was pretty much set up with useful things I purchased and left for her knowingly that another NSET would be moving in and not just some random person. I would have tossed the stuff otherwise. |
