I am considering applying to an EPIK position in Namhae. I have never been to Korea, so I am unfamiliar with the location. Has any one taught there? Any advice is much appreciated! |
I live in Namhae in one of the rural villages. Most of the foreigners working in Namhae-gun live in Namhae-eup or Samcheonpo. You'd probably be living in Namhae-eup since the people who left recently worked there, but you'll probably have to take a bus (or drive if you opt to buy a vehicle) out to the country a few days a week to work at a rural school or two.
There are nice beaches and mountains. I'd say that the people in Namhae are nicer than people are in other parts of Korea. My job itself is pretty laid back and generally without much work to do.
If you're young, well, there aren't really a lot of young people around, Koreans or foreigners.
If you have any questions that are more specific, let me know. |
