Hello,

Here is the second question regarding my research for my MBA in HR. I'm writing a dissertation on the link between motivation and performance in the workplace in the TEFL industry and would appreciate as many responses as possible.

If you don't mind answering this question and the other poll which I posted, I would be very grateful!

Thank you everyone!!

I appreciate all the responses so far and those of you that have taken the time to cast a vote. I would really love to get a few more votes on this if possible and get a better idea about what motivates teachers in Korea.

If the choice that closest matches the biggest motivator for you is not provided, please choose 'other' and if you could take the time to specify in a post, I would be really grateful.

Cheers everyone!

Other: I work hard because that's just who I am. Schools don't care if I do a good job. I don't try hard for recognition or any other reason. I do it because I would be disappointed in myself if I produced anything less than my best. I guess the word is "pride". I have pride. I don't want to bring shame to myself. I think that's what motivates a lot of people.

The more preparation you put into the lessons, the more enjoyable they are to teach. Simple as that

I work hard to avoid all contact with HR mentalists. Since the name was changed from employee relations to human resources they've turned into monsters that I avoid at all costs. We are not a resource. Energy is a resource. Paperclips are a resource. Coffee is a resource. Humans are a little bit more complex than that, and this moniker represents corporations' attempts to turn us in to the unthinking, cheap, expendable and replaceable units they would like us to be.
