Hi everyone,

If I buy a WII in korea, will all the games be in Korean? Or does the system not matter and it matters if I get the english version of the games?

Thanks,

Yes, all of the games will be in Korean. However, the Wii is simple to hack so that you are able to play English games.

Thanks for your response.

So all the games are English but the Korean system converts it all to Korean or what?

No, they have been translated into Korean (menu text and voice dubbing).

You can however change your Wii to another country's format through a simple hack.

North America: NTSC-U
Korea: NTSC-K
Japan: NTSC-J
Europe: PAL

Not quite sure if this will allow you to be able to play retail games from those regions without a chip. You can have your Wii chipped at Yongsan however and be able to play retail games from any region.

If you are into pirating, you can download games from any region/language and play them on your Wii with the same hack.

Go to wiihacks and check out the guide to hack your Wii if you want to do it yourself. They do everything at Yongsan if you don't want to do it yourself. You can also purchase a hard-drive from them loaded with games.

After getting it chipped/hacked you can buy the pirated english games at technomart, yongsan, songtan, probably even someplace in itaewon generally for 5 bucks a pop. you can also download wii torrents and run them through a conversion program to change to a playable format. you can then upload that to a hard drive or burn it to a disc. easy enough to do.
