I have an Asus F6 laptop. It's about 3 years old but still running great apart from some noise coming from what I think is the hard drive - a kind of rattling noise.

I'm leaving Korea soon and want to use this laptop as a media player when I get back. (I'll be getting a new laptop). I was thinking of replacing the hard drive with a larger newer one.

It currently has a Seagate 250gb SATA-II hard drive. I was thinking of replacing it with a 1TB drive. However, I have no confidence in being able to do it myself.

If I go to Yongsan, could they do it for me? Also, is it possible to just transfer everything I have on this hard drive to the new one - so I don't have to reinstall Windows and everything?

Finally, if this is all possible, any recommendations on specific vendors in Yongsan to get this done?

Did you buy it in Korea? Even if you didn�t than try to find an Asus service center.
I dropped a laptop and the hard drive died. It was a Korean brand though, TG. I went to their service center and they got me a new hard drive. The warranty period already expired but all I had to pay was the hard drive. And even that one was super cheap because they charged only as much as it cost them to buy it: wholesale. No service fee and they even installed a new OS.
