|
|
Hi everyone, this is my first post.
I am in talks with these two schools and it seems likely I'll be offered jobs.
Anyone have any experience of these schools?
I have spent hours searching for things about them; I can't find anything about Seoran but have noted the largely scornful YBM comments.
Has anyone worked at the Nowon branch? Seems like it could be quite a decent location (for me especially - I'm English and was told be a recruiter it would be near impossible to find a job in Seoul because they favour the American accent). Lots of foreigners and 40 mins from downtown, not too bad.
So, anyone worked there? Anyone heard of Seoran language school? Anyone got any positive comments about YBMECC!? Anyone English and working in Seoul?
Any advice would be much appreciated! |

Your recruiter was talking nonsense about the English thing - the British accent is gaining in popularity, so I've heard.
You'll read a lot of bad things about YBM ECC, but it depends on the individual branch, so hopefully someone who's worked there will pipe up. |

Pay no attention to the British accent thing. I've been working in Seoul for the past four years and I'm a Brit. Most likely they wanted to get you to sign on some less desirable job outside of the city.
I can't comment on those two schools though as I haven't worked for them. Maybe someone else could help you out with that. |

Yes its true that many hangooks prefer the american accent but you will meet all nationalities in Seoul (both public school and hogwons too). I think the previous poster is right, the recruiter will say anything to push you into a job as soon as possible. The recruiter wants to get paid. |
