|

Went home for two months and people said two months would be OK, but no, I was cut off. Only about 30,000 on it too!
Question is, how do I get the gas put back on? I assume step one is pay the bill at the bank, but what do I do then? I really want it turned back on tomorrow if possible as I'd love a shower!
Thanks |

If you live in a Villa, just go down to the parking lot, or first floor where all the gas mains are. The valves are not locked or sealed shut. You can turn yours back on by just turning the valve handle 90 degrees to be in line with the pipe.
It may be taped with security tape, but it breaks easily. As long as you pay your bill without delay, there will be no trouble.
As far as I know, you cannot pay overdue bills at the bank. You'll need to go to a gas company office. Get someone to call the number on your bill for the location near your place. |

This happened to me last week actually. Guys turned my gas off for owing 14,000 won from May even though I have paid all of the months since.
Simply went to the budongsan, had them call..got the account number, made the transfer at the local ATM, and gas was back on that day.
Although the tape may be taken off easily as mentioned, I would advice NOT doing that. It might be ok to do it yourself if you have already paid the balance, but just to be on the safe side and not take any chance with some city ordinance or law, probably better to let the gas company come out and turn it back on themselves. |

Aw, man, it was really complicated for me.
They made me pay a fine of a couple thousand just to make sure I would waste oodles of time getting it turned back on.
But, they called me in the winter to make sure that their turning off the gas wasn't gonna bust me a few water pipes in the house, nice people! |

| When it happened to me I went to the bank, paid the bill, set up a regular payment scheme and went home and turned on the gas immediately. All done in about an hour. A co-teacher wrote a note (instructions) for the bank staff. |
