So a lot of people on here complain about scooters just randomly spraying diesel in the summer and spring to kill mosquitoes. Well, my dad is on the mosquito abatement board and I'm bringing back some pamphlets so that I can hopefully meet with someone in the government (I live in Yongsan). Wish me luck folks. Wish me luck. |

I've never heard of diesel being sprayed to kill mossies, that just sounds wrong. |

Well have you seen the guys that drive around during the summer, spraying those thick white clouds? That's a mixture of diesel with some other stuff. The idea is that the diesel finds it's way into standing water and creates a film that prevent mosquito larvae from breathing. It's true that that works on the chemical level, but it's a horribly ineffective delivery method, not to mention that diesel fumes cause cancer. |

I hope you can offer an alternative method for killing mosquitoes, i.e. improving sewer drainage, introducing natural predators of mosquitoes or some bio-degradable larvae killer. If not, luck is all you've got. |
